A Sad Day for Hot Dogs and Hamburgers

It is a sad day for Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.

It was announced today that Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  What will the L.A. County Fair be without Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick??  They are the cornerstone of the Fair stick food phenomenon!  Summer just isn’t summer without a corn dog on a stick, slathered in mustard or ketchup, and a Big Lemonade to wash it down!  Perhaps even more important is the stylish and sexy uniform that all Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick employees have to wear!

Fortunately it is just Chapter 11 bankruptcy, meaning Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick might be clogging arteries awhile longer if they can restructure and get going again.  So cross your fingers that the future will be full of deep fried meat and cheese on a stick!  And if you see a Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick in the mall, BUY ONE!!

I had to run home and create my sad corny-dog because I am so worried for the future of this shopping mall icon.  The tutorial for making your own corny-dog is below.

And in even worse news, John Markulis, the man who baked In-N-Out Burger’s hamburger buns, passed away today at the age of 83!  He had “the best buns in town.”

‘Tis a sad, sad day for Hot Dog and Hamburger lovers.  Sad indeed.

    • Hi Janice! Yes! You can definitely visit me in Texas. Just try to come when it isn’t snowing or boiling at 100 degrees! They (the infamous they) say no one moves to Texas for the weather!
